About ISNT

ISNT is a non-profit, professional body of technologists, engineers, scientists, academicians and researchers in India, who are engaged in the field of non-destructive testing. Since its inception in the year 1972, it has matured and established itself at the international level having stature and recognition. Presently, ISNT has more than 5000 members spreading over 18 chapters in India with headquarters at Chennai.

The objective of ISNT is to promote the awareness of NDT science and technology through education, research and exchange of technical information within the country and internationally to its members and other professionals.

Some of the major objectives of ISNT are:

  • To organize professional courses / workshops / seminars in various fields of NDE and to create forum for exchange of information & ideas among the NDE practitioners & professionals.

  • To promote the use of approved international and national standards in NDE and related areas by Indian industry in consultation with the Bureau of Indian Standards.

  • To help in preparation of new Indian standards and updating old standards in NDE.

  • To co-ordinate with universities, academic institutions and government bodies for initiating new projects on the development of various NDE techniques.

  • To interact and co-ordinate with other national associations and NDE societies from other countries.

  • To conduct training and certification courses in NDE techniques.

  • To publish books on various NDT techniques.

About NDE 2026

NDE 2026, Conference & Exhibition on Non-Destructive Evaluation & Enabling Technologies, will be held from 01–02 March 2026 at The Forum, Club O7, Shela, Ahmedabad. This event stands as a vital platform for professionals, researchers, academicians and industry leaders to come together and exchange ideas, innovations and advancements in the ever-evolving domain of NDE. These will be aptly demonstrated by the plethora of exhibitions displaying the best-in-class achievements and latest developments of NDE Science and Technology relevant across industry sectors.

In line with the theme of the Conference, ‘NDE Empowering Industrial Excellence’, Industry Sessions have been planned covering various sectors including Oil & Gas, Energy & Power, Metals & Materials, Manufacturing & Third Party Inspection and Transportation, which includes automobile, railways, aviation & shipping, to further advance the frontiers in NDE Science and Technology.
